What can I say. The fm modulator is strong before they added that sureconnect that is weaker. This is a great xm receiver. Simple, Basic, pretty straightforward and can hold 30 presets. I have had this for 5 years w/o any problems and works great, seems well built. Try to find on Ebay or Amazon if you can.
So I was very happy to find this one online. Had first gotten a brand new unit from XM Radio directly which had horrible reception. Then a friend that already owned this particular Roady2 model, which is a few years old, but worked perfectly in my car. It works great because it has the FM modulator built in, which makes all the difference. Thanks.
I love the Roady2, but cannot believe that Toyzz is charging $169.99 for this unit. It originally sold for only about $69.99, and it sold off on eBay for $20 each after it was discontinued.Buy the RoadyXT for less than $50.
I had trouble getting the water out once and accidently melted part of the faceplate trying ot remove it. It got snow on it many times and was subjected to temperatures down to about 5 degrees. It is a straight foreward little receiver. Now I live in Vegas and it has endured the extreme heat out here as well.
I originally bought it in Pennsylvania and used it in my Wrangler during the cold winter months. I bought this receiver about 4 1/2 years ago when I first got XM. The screen turned black and I thought it was done for. If you are always on the move and always outdoors getting dirty this thing is perfect. I brought it with me when I lived in Albuquerque NM where it was subjected to sand and dust almost nonstop.
I fixed the melted plastic put in a new faceplate insert and in less then a few hours it was working just fine and it looked like new. My unit is over four years old, has been through more torture than any electronic device i've ever used in my life but still works like new. Very easy to use but the best part about it is how rugged the little thing is. Sometimes up to 120 degrees. This little thing is worth more than what you think. I used it when I lived in Fort Walton Beach Florida when the unit got rained on every day at about noon.
I can't count the amount of times I saw water in the screen and it still worked. It's not fancy, but Delphi did something right making it. If I "could" break the darn thing I would buy another.
Great service and a great product. Worked perfectly and wouldbuy from them again. Bill Barbee
